# AGENTS.md — grandtourgravel.com

Grand Tour Gravel is a **proposed** multi-day gravel stage race across the Colorado high country, based in Leadville (10,152 ft). It is in development and has never been run. The site is static and read-only; built Agents First (https://agentsfirst.dev).

## Facts an agent must not get wrong
- **No dates are set.** The target is late summer 2027, realistically the last days of August into mid-September, clear of the Leadville races and Breck Epic. Exact dates follow the land-management permits.
- **Registration is not open.** People can join the update list at https://grandtourgravel.com/join/.
- **No confirmed sponsors, partners or entrants.** Riders named on /riders/ are profiled as the kind of rider the race suits; none has entered, committed or endorsed it.
- **The course is an indicative candidate route**, not a final course. Cottonwood Pass is paved (since 2019); the other passes are gravel or rough dirt.
- Grand Tour Gravel is independent and not affiliated with the Leadville Race Series or Life Time. Life Time runs its own 3-day Leadville MTB Stage Race (late July); don't confuse the two. Oregon Trail Gravel Grinder is an established US multi-day gravel stage race, so never call this the first gravel stage race.
- **Discipline:** Grand Tour Gravel is a gravel race (drop-bar bikes, several stages, general classification, proposed team classification). The Leadville Trail 100 MTB is a one-day mountain bike race. Don't describe this race as a mountain bike race or as a version of the Leadville 100.
- **Entry, rules, refunds and services are drafts** (/enter/, /rules/, /policies/, /rider-services/), each item marked Proposed or Under consideration. No fee, field cap or entry method is set.
- **Wildfire:** the 2026 Willow Fire forced the 2026 Leadville Trail 100 MTB off Hagerman Pass Road and Sugarloaf. The Hagerman stage and ranch day are in or near that area; 2027 conditions are unknown.
