Who's building Grand Tour Gravel
A proposed gravel stage race, planned from Leadville, with a basecamp that already exists.
What it is
Grand Tour Gravel is a proposed multi-day gravel stage race across the Colorado high country, based in Leadville at 10,152 feet. Riders race a stage a day over the passes, and their times add up to a general classification. As far as we know, no multi-day gravel stage race with a general classification runs over Colorado's high alpine passes.
It has never been run. The first edition is targeted for late summer 2027. There are no confirmed dates, fees, sponsors or entrants yet, and the course is a candidate route. It goes ahead only once permits, sanctioning and insurance are in place.
The basecamp hosts
Sugarloaf Mountain Lodge is a 5,000 sq ft lodge on a private ranch of about 1,000 acres on Turquoise Lake, about ten minutes from downtown Leadville. It is the race's basecamp and the planned home of the ranch stage.
Leadville Offroad Adventures, based in town, runs guided tours and a support fleet in the high country around Leadville.

Independence
Grand Tour Gravel is independent and not affiliated with Life Time or the Leadville Race Series. We name those events on this site as comparables and neighbors on the calendar, and we plan our dates to stay clear of them.
