Grand Tour Gravel

A proposed multi-day gravel stage race across the Colorado high country, starting and finishing in Leadville at 10,152 feet. Stages cross old mining roads and passes above 12,000 feet, with general classification and jersey competitions in the grand-tour tradition. Founding partners are being sought now to shape the first edition.

Where things stand. The race is in development and has not been run. Dates, field size and entry pricing are not set, and no sponsors have been signed. Permits, insurance and sanctioning are part of the plan still ahead. A partner joining now helps decide what the first edition looks like.

The audience

Endurance riders who plan their season around hard, remote events such as the Leadville Trail 100, SBT GRVL and the Life Time Grand Prix series. Around them: support crews, families, stage towns and the cycling media that follows the sport.

Why gravel

Gravel has become one of the most active parts of cycling in the US, and Colorado is at the center of it. Multi-day stage racing on gravel is still rare in America, so the format has room for a defining event.

Why Leadville

The highest incorporated city in the US, a National Historic Landmark district, and a town that already hosts major endurance races every summer. The basecamp is in place: a private ranch and lodge with a working tour and support operation.

Partnership tiers

Each tier is built around category exclusivity. Packages are shaped with each partner, and rates are on request.

What a partner receives

Presence

  • Category exclusivity for the term of the deal
  • Naming on a stage or classification, carried on kit, results, signage and the finish
  • On-course activation and product integration with the field
  • Access to riders, crews and the host village during race week
  • A founding role: credited as a partner who helped build the event

Media

  • Photography from each marquee pass and the finish, with a same-day gallery and partner usage rights
  • A short documentary film planned for year one, built on rider stories, the town and the passes
  • Brand placement on the live GPS tracker, GC standings and stage graphics
  • A live blog and finish-line stream during the race
  • Social coverage before, during and after: course reveals, daily recaps, stage winners, highlights

Coverage plans are phased with sponsorship. Moto and aerial video and a full live broadcast are growth options, not year-one commitments. Details are in the media and production plan.

Founding-partner timing

Partnerships are being set before the inaugural edition is announced. The title partner comes first because that deal anchors the fixed costs: permits, insurance, timing and medical. Official-supplier categories follow. Each category is exclusive, so an early partner has the first choice of what is open.

How it works

  1. A first conversation about your goals and the categories that fit.
  2. A package shaped together, with rates on request.
  3. Agreement, then an announcement together when the race is launched.
